Matt's love for fitness started at a young age when he started playing organized sports like football, baseball, wrestling, hockey, soccer, boxing, and rugby. Later in Matt's life, fitness became a bigger part of his life when he joined the military. While serving in the Navy, he was introduced to CrossFit and never looked back. He started training fellow shipmates onboard his ship while on deployment and that's where he realized he needed to become a trainer. He loved to see others improve and see results every day and liked being the one to help them get there. When he returned home from deployment in December 2012, he received his Level 1 Trainer certificate. He continued using CrossFit in his garage, training family and friends and then moved onto Stone Age CrossFit in October 2013.
